Inktober 29: girl appears to be lost in mountains, finds wolf and more mountains.

Coolest high schooler you’ve ever seen. Was trying to experiment with being inspired by manga but I couldn’t quite go the whole hog and kind of lost interest halfway through attempting bed-day dots shading or whatever it is. I’m glad I tried fancy super neat lines though, normally I’m way too impatient for that. Also I don’t

Playing around with the sketchbook Grandma gave me, made of handmade paper. It’s a really cool looking book, it’s all thick and texture-y like an old hardback novel and I was scared of messing it up with all its fragile unable-to-be-ripped-out pages, but I finally said ‘fuck it’ and dove right in. The pen didn’t even

Was feeling a bit blah and tried to shake it off by making something and I don’t hate how it’s going, so I guess that worked! Man but all my heads end up so bobbly and huge looking, my life drawing teacher would kill me if she saw this! Also apparently there’s like 41 people

Trying to get out of the habit of getting hung up on nit picking and just practise and chill out a little.

Liz Sherman, from Hellboy (I was super disappointed by her in the movies, she’s a total badass in the comics). Been working a lot in Flash, so felt like goofing around with the lasso tool, while trying (again) to emulate Mike Mignola’s style. So fun.

Idea that I’m not sure is going to go anywhere, but I’m finding it kind of interesting just messing around with it.

Another scan; this one I did over a month ago, just felt like playing around with my coloured pencils and decided that anatomy, perspective, reference and composition where unimportant. It was fun! Colours are still a bit weird though, bummer.

New colour scheme for this character, one I’m much happier with. Also playing around with glowy magic thingies but I didn’t want it to look too cliche, I’ll probably be messing around with that a little more.

The museums in Munich are 1 Euro on Sundays, so I’ve been going to them all, and oh my god they’re so much bigger than all the ones I’ve been to in Australia. And there’s ten times as many. Never seen a Greek one before, or an Egyptian one either, and I haven’t even been

Redesigning the poncho girl, didn’t like the poncho so there we go. I don’t like this colour scheme, but I like how the rest of it is going. I haven’t properly figured out the story for the film she’s for, but I know there’s going to be a grandma character and possibly a goat. Magic
