sketches

Ouch, I think my hand is going to hurt tomorrow. But I finished a picture that I’m really proud of! So I feel lots of regret, but also triumph. Strange combination? I feel like for the rest of my life I’m going to be walking this tightrope between too much pain and not enough drawing.

Instagram pics from the last week or two! I’m still making no progress on fixing my right hand problems, which got much worse this week because I had to make it hurt to get an MRI scan, and I’m still paying all that right hand use. So, that’s not fun but at least there’s some

  • Augsburg Zoo trip

Went to the zoo a few weeks ago on a day off from work, and had a great time filling up almost half my new sketchbook. Also got back to the right hand, because drawing animals is bloody hard enough as it is. The chameleon was great to draw, very adept at standing still. If

First page of new sketchbook. Starting to gain some confidence with faces. Got a bit carried away with this pattern. Then some leaves, having

  • Updates, part 1

Been a bit slack, again. Starting a full time job an hour and a half away really sucks away the time, but I have been doing arts and junk, just posting it on instagram. Here’s an update, part 1! Did a lot of small sketches mostly on the train, which I didn’t think were worth

  • July 28

Started reading The First Law by Joe Abercrombie, and was enjoying the characters so much I had to draw them.

Stag studies. They’re funny animals, in some ways they look totally graceful and epic, and in other ways they’re totally derpy and awkward.

More reasonless sketches. I seem to be having trouble drawing anything worthwhile or interesting, but I’m hoping if I just keep doing it I’ll produce something good eventually.

More pencil sketches. Birds, not really birds, I think there’s a guinea pig, and Tauriel.
